Dear Volunteers, Donors, and Supporters:
The Warminster Food Bank provides most of its benefit distribution by private appointment. We believe this gives us a unique opportunity to engage our guests to help further their needs.
One of the most requested issues that keeps recurring is their limited ability to secure everyday essentials.
We learned many of our families struggle to afford basic non-food household goods—including products related to personal care, household care and baby care—and, as a result, make trade-offs with other living expenses and employ coping strategies such as stretching, substituting, borrowing, and doing without.
Some of these strategies, such as altering eating habits and delaying other healthy habits to afford non-food items, raise concerns about potential risks to the health and well-being of many of our families with children.
All the following essential everyday items are not covered by SNAP (previously known as Food Stamp Assistance):
Small Kitchen items
Dish Soap
Household Cleaning Supplies
Laundry Supplies
Soap
Shampoo
Oral Hygiene
Paper Products
Baby Care
And to add insult to injury, the price increases for these essential items have far outpaced the recent increase in food costs.
We are so grateful for your continued support in much-needed food items. We ask that you be aware of the non-food essentials our families need.
Thank You.
