Stuff the HUMVEE! Warminster Food Bank & Air National Guard Team Up to Send Food Insecurity Packing

In a remarkable collaboration, the Warminster Food Bank and the Air National Guard came together for the Stuff the HUMVEE! event, successfully collecting over 2,200 pounds of groceries in just three hours. This initiative highlights the pressing issue of food insecurity in our community and showcases how teamwork can make a significant impact.

The event provided an opportunity for residents to donate non-perishable food items, filling the HUMVEE with much-needed supplies for families in need. The response from the community was overwhelming, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting those who rely on food assistance. By joining forces, the Warminster Food Bank and the Air National Guard are not only addressing immediate hunger but also raising awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by many in our area.

The success of Stuff the HUMVEE! exemplifies the power of community collaboration. With continued support from local residents and organizations, we can work together to send food insecurity packing and ensure that everyone has access to nutritious meals. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to this meaningful cause!

The Warminster Food Bank teamed up with the Biddle Air National
Guard Base in Horsham for a food collection event Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Giant
Supermarket located at 720 W. Street Road, Warminster, PA.
Area residents and business owners were invited to participate and a list of needed items were
provided to shoppers at the store’s entrances. These Items will be used to provide monthly
groceries and supplies for families in need in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. Donations of
cash or Giant gift cards were also accepted. Warminster Food Bank collected over 2200 pounds
of nonperishable food items and $615 in cash and Giant gift cards at the event.
The Biddle Air National Guard Base provided a vehicle for the event and uniformed military
personnel were on hand to work with Giant employees, Food Bank volunteers and Giant
customers to fill the vehicle with food. The items collected will be provided to people in need in
Warminster and the surrounding communities. The Warminster Food Bank serves over 7000
people a year in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

“Since many people are on vacation during the summer months, our donations slow down to a
trickle,” said Mike Cerino, Director, Warminster Food Bank. “Yet the need remains, no matter
the season. We are extremely grateful the team at Giant Supermarket of Warminster, Biddle Air
National Guard and members of the community who made donations today to help Warminster
Food Bank alleviate food insecurity in our community.”
